The new school year is well underway and it is a good time to remind you of some of the services available from the school counselor (also referred to as the guidance counselor). The school counselor is available for individual, small group and classroom guidance activities. If there is a home situation that you feel may be having an effect on your child's school performance, the school counselor can meet with them, at your request, to help them express their feelings in an appropriate way and return to their school work. The school counselor can also work with your child around any issues they may be having at school, as well. Feel free to call the school counselor, Mr. Scarlett, at 463-4346 if you have anything you would like addressed with your child.

Now that the holidays and winter break are over, students typically settle in to learning and getting back to their work in school. This can be a time of great growth, and can also be a time where there are struggles. Please feel free to call or email me if you have any concern about your student or students. Finally, I would like to wish you and your family all the best in 2016.

The beginning of the new school year is a fun and exciting time, but may also be stressful, as students adjust to the various changes in their schedule and new expectations. Please feel free to call Mr. Scarlett in the guidance office if there is anything you would like to share with us about your child and how we may best help them.
